Set up key tracker

Before we start:

Install Findthing app

To set it up, you need the free app "Findthing - Smart Finder" from the Google Playstore.

1. Charge key tracker

Your new key tracker isn't yet fully charged to protect the battery and ensure its full performance. Even without use, the battery will discharge over time. Use a USB-C charger and charge the tracker until the indicator light changes from red to green.

2. Switch on the device

Press the button for 5 seconds to turn on the device. You will then hear a beep to confirm that the device is active.

To check if the device is on, double-click the device button. If the device is on, you'll hear a beep.

3. App pairing

  1. Download the app: Download the "Findthing Smart Finder" Download the app from the Google Play Store.
  2. Activate Bluetooth: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
  3. Open app: Open the "Findthing Smart Finder" app and follow the instructions.
  4. Add device: Click on "Add device", scroll down the device list to "Other" and select this option.
  5. Pair key tracker: Hold the Tracker Card near your smartphone. As soon as the Card was found, select it to connect.
  6. Name device: Enter a name for your device, select a suitable category (z.B. "Wallet") and add a picture.
  7. Complete the process: Tap on the top right "Completed"to complete the process.

Key Tracker Locate

Find your device with the “Findthing Smart Finder” app

  1. Open app: Open the "Findthing Smart Finder"-App on your smartphone.
  2. Select device: Choose your GPS Tracker Card from the list of connected devices.
  3. View location history: Click on the button "Location history"to see the current location of the Card on a Card to be displayed.

Find device with beep

  1. Open app: Open the "Findthing Smart Finder"app on your Android device.
  2. Select device: Select your key tracker from the list of devices.
  3. Activate signal tone: Click on "Call"to locate your key tracker with a beep.

Remove key tracker

Remove key tracker from the Findthing Smart Finder app

  1. Register: If you are not already logged in to the Findthing Smart Finder app, sign up now.
  2. Select device: Select your key tracker from the list of devices.
  3. View device information: Click the "About Device" button.
  4. Disconnect: Scroll down and select "Disconnect."
  5. Confirm: Click the "Confirm" button to permanently disconnect.

After the device is removed, it will beep. The device will not turn off but will remain in pairing mode. If no re-pairing occurs within 10 minutes, the device will exit pairing mode. If you want to re-pair the device at this time, press the device button once. The device will beep, which will confirm that it has returned to pairing mode and can be paired again.

Reset key tracker to factory settings

If you're having trouble re-pairing your device or want to completely reset it, performing a factory reset can help. This process removes all previous settings and restores the device to its original state.

  1. Remove the device from the "Findthing Smart Finder"-App
  2. Turn on the device and double-click the device button to make sure it is active.
  3. Hold the device button for eight seconds: The device will then emit a beep.
  4. Release the buttonto complete the factory reset.

After this process, the device will be as good as new and ready to be re-paired according to the instructions above.

Battery status

You can view the battery status of your key tracker in the "Findthing - Smart Finder" app. To do so, go to your device in the app and select "About Device." There you'll find all the information about the current battery level.

Here you can also remove the connection to your mobile phone to Card to reconnect.
